THE COURSE

Enough time to actually learn to fly.

Paragliding is learned by doing: handling the wing, launching, landing, reading conditions, making decisions and gradually taking more responsibility in the air.

Airventure gives you nine full training days. For most students that is usually enough to reach the PG2 supervised pilot standard, subject to weather, individual progression and instructor sign-off.

The goal isn't to rush through a checklist. It's to create a capable beginner pilot.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Skills first. Airtime follows.

Wing control — build a genuine feel for the aircraft on the ground.

Launching & landing — develop repeatable technique rather than relying on luck.

Supervised solo flying — progressively more responsibility and airtime as your skills develop.

Weather & decisions — start learning when to fly and, just as importantly, when not to.

Site awareness — develop responsible habits around launch, landing areas and other pilots.

Equipment knowledge — understand the wing, harness, reserve system and the basics of choosing gear.

PG2 & WEATHER

The sky doesn't read our timetable.

PG2 is the supervised pilot level that marks the transition from student training into the early stages of life as a paraglider pilot. Qualification is competency-based: suitable weather, completion of the required training and instructor assessment all matter.

Some days deliver lots of airtime; others are better used for ground handling, theory or waiting for a safe flying window. Training days may move or the course period may extend when conditions require it. Learning to work with the weather is part of becoming a pilot.

AFTER NINE DAYS

You qualify when you're ready.

Most students get there. Nine full days is usually sufficient for most people when weather and progression cooperate.

Extra time is available. If you need more training, paid catch-up days can be arranged or, where suitable, you can join training days with a later intake.

Then you keep flying. Ongoing support, a local flying community and student discounts on selected gear and servicing help bridge the gap between qualification and becoming an active pilot.

THE AIRVENTURE DIFFERENCE

Your course ends. Your flying life doesn't.

Airventure students become part of a local flying community rather than being handed a qualification and left wondering what comes next. That means ongoing support, people to fly with, local knowledge, further training opportunities and a pathway into ground handling, meteorology, radio, higher ratings and bigger flying adventures.

Students also receive discounts on selected equipment and workshop servicing.
